Not sure if that's ever going to happen I hope so but not looking good. Makes me very sad great memories there....
I would guess that there's a sickness in the family or they're on vacation. The owner is the cook you know.
Great burgers. First time there but I will be back. Couldn't find an online menu so here's a photo of it.
The kuku fries were AMAZING! Just your run of the mill GOOD hamburger. But the kuku fries were my favorite. The fried pickles were delightful too.
Foods absolutely amazing, made fresh every order and not sitting around in a warmer. Prices are reasonable, food is bomb.
Brought hubby a double giant cheeseburger that he said was best yet!
They are doing a good job to be safe through this pandemic. Fast, friendly service and good old fashioned burger. Price very reasonable.
Good food and very nostalgic!
Absolutely best burger I've had in 300 miles!! This pace has it all. Burgers, shakes, fries, onion rings, ice cream cones, fried veggies (the only way to eat them 😉) I mean they have everything! Not a single bad item on the menu. Children welcome. This guy is really passionate about his food and you can tell. Highly recommended. The wait time is s little longer than you're used to, but trust me, you will not be disappointed. In the summer Route 66 tourists will come eat here with their really nice classic cars. I'm pretty sure there's a little car show in the parking lot next door also.
We stopped here because our sons name is Waylon... we weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised. The staff were all so friendly and even gave Waylon a little car. We ordered burgers, a corn dog, some fried pickles and okra, and it was all EXCELLENT. Anytime we are back in Miami, we will be stopping by Waylan's!
Cozy. Huge portions. Glass enclosed eating area. Good ice cream. Nostalgic atmosphere.
Great food. The cauliflower is delicious.
GREAT burgers, tots, fries and ice cream. (The flavor burst ice cream and chocolate shakes are amazing!) Wonderful atmosphere and friendly service. However, come with time to sit and eat, as it takes some time to order and get your food, especially during lunch rush.
I haven't ate at one of these since they left Vinita! Great burgers, built just right! No reconstruction.. 😊
I love their fried pickles and their burgers are just right! The atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is friendly. My kids love to eat here.
Had to wait a long time for an ok burger. The drinks were flat, and we only received a few sides
Kids absolutely loved their kids meal. They ate all of their meal, plus it came in the coolest car box. The DB giant cheeseburger with excellent, and big. We ordered a side of onion rings and pickle spears. Perfect. They closed at 5:00pm and we was there at 4:50. Knowing at that moment they we're closing they still were very hospitable and had super smiles. That means the world to me.
Visited today with my family after seeing them featured on Discover Oklahoma! So worth the drive. Friendly staff and Mr. Waylan even came out from grilling to say hello and talked with our family and gave us each a keychain. The food is wonderful!
Absolutely great old fashion hamburger!!! Best I've had. All the food we had was good.
Good burgers & fries. Happy staff, happy customers. Nostalgic.
Best burger you can get In the area!
Stopped in for lunch today with my daughter. A double giant cheeseburger and chicken strips, fries, tots, and a couple of cyclones. The food was decent, not spectacular. I feel it's seriously overpriced, as the above came to just under $30. May be awhile before I go back...
Best hamburger in Oklahoma! Stop and get yourself a few.
Great fresh cooked food! Could cut down on price or up the amount you get for what you pay..also has change of staff a lot due to owner docking 15 min even if they are only 1 min late! Been around for many years this place ain't going anywhere til owner is gone!
I've been coming to the Ku Ku my whole life and I still love it! It's still local family owned and run by the Waylan's (lifelong friends of our family). They have a wide variety of everyone's usual favorites that you come to expect from an old-fashioned drive-in burger joint. I hope they never change their menu or their food! The pork tenderloin sandwich is my personal favorite (try to find that anywhere else in the area) and they still make a really mean pineapple shake, you know, the kind Sonic no longer has on their menu. The food quality and friendly service will have you coming back for more!
It was very delicious, my husband had never ate their so I told him it has great food, I used to come here years ago. Good food and friendly workers.
A genuine 60's hamburger joint. Can't beat the food or the ambience.
I usually go to Braums. I think it was closed due to renovation. Tried this place for first time. Won't be back. Burger had no flavor at all. For sure was made with frozen patties. Had to add salt to taste something on the burger. Fries were not crispy, greasy and again, had no seasoning at all. I think any place in Miami is worth going before coming here.
Literally the best hamburger and friend mushrooms in the universe.
The best has been my whole life
Way over rated. Just a basic burger, with a lack of flavor.
There ain't nothing like it in the world!Operated by the owner and his daughter and himself... They're keeping the last remaining KuKu alive!Great Buffalo burger, fried green tomatoes, and fried cauliflower. A great small town favorite on Route 66!
Waylans is one of the best family owned burger place...in the area
First time back since he's reopened last year and is only opened til 5 in the evening now. Always good food and family oriented but they need help behind the counter though that's for sure because only one person working it during a busy rush isn't something to do especially with her arm in a sling poor girl but love the food though just wished was opened like it use to be
I can respect that the folks posting 5 star reviews have never been to another place that serves burgers. Babes, 5 guys, bruams, or even McDonald's. The burgers are at best Sub par. For 25 bucks they should of at least been warm. Their malts aren't malts (Monarch pharmacy is the place for a real malt). I can only assume everyone here just started today. Service would of been better from a rabid wolverine. All in all its not worth the drive, the money, or the air required to breath in order to get in. Shame. Place was probably pretty nice 50 years ago before they opened and started disappointing people. Next time I'll lick a turd from the cats litter box before I consider eating here again.
Love this place....fresh quality.....but worth your wait...
Great burgers and great food and price
It was well worth the wait, as it has been a long time since either of us has had a Waylan's Ku-Ku burger. We were in town, from Pryor and both immediately agreed (rarely) on where we wanted to eat, no question! We shared a few laughs and reminisced on when we used to go to the Vinita location, until they closed, and we had to start going to Miami. We ran into people at a flea market, that had seen us there. It was their first experience there and they said they really enjoyed it. Loved seeing the pics and memorabilia on the walls too
Ku-Ku has fantastic classic burgers. Was not upset with anything I ate there.
Food was great service kind of slow
We stop here anytime we come anywhere near the area!! Our whole family’s favorite burger!! Definitely recommend!!
Great atmosphere. Big hamburger. Delicious. Grew up eating there and now taking grandkids.
Food was good and prepared to order. Liked the limeaid. Old time restaurant on route 66. Very glad we stopped on our way home.
Waylans Kuku was a restaurant chain back in Route 66's heyday and this is currently the only location still in business. They still cook food the exact same way they did back then. There is a lot of memorabilia and this establishment to look at and read and the workers know a lot about the history of the establishment. Mr. Waylan still Cooks the food just as he has for more than 40 years and his daughter works there as well. If you're ever in Miami Oklahoma this is a must stop establishment.
Only drive thru available right now. Burger was good, tots were crisp and onion rings were crunchy and yummy. Milk shake was chocolatey and good. I look forward to visiting next time we are in town.
This is a land mark in our town. The best hamburgers in town. Got to ask for the giant cheese burger. And a Pepsi. Wow!
The Best Grilled Hamburgers,,, EVER!! I had to have my Ku-Ku fixs.❤ Even on the go.. 🚘🚗🏃♀️
A MUST! A landmark on its own, good food and beverages. (Bikers roaming the Route 66 are pampered)
All time favorite from childhood. Try to go here every time I visit the area.
The lady at the counter was super nice and helpful. It was our first time in (and we had a bunch of questions). The burgers were delicious. The Frito pie was good... Waffle fries were awesome. We came here because it was a historical landmark, and we're glad that we did! Prices are reasonable, definitely worth the trip.
It was amazing I loved the mood and the setting. It was fantastic service polite people and I absolutely loved all the articles, pictures, and everything that is a perfect vibe. I will definetly always visit everytime or sometimes I'm in Miami!
